Readings and Card Meanings:

What is a reading ?

A reading is a session where a tarot reader answers your questions or presents cards directed to you and explains their meaning and guidance. It is intuitive and guiding which most people find lifts a burden of weight from them....

The Arcana- Major And Minor;

Major Arcana:

The Major Arcana are a collection of 22 trump Tarot cards that unveil the fundamental archetypes of human existence. From The Fool’s leap into unknown adventures through the cards with optimistic enthusiasm. The Arcana guides us through the stages of growth, transformation and self-discovery, as well as the triumphs and challenges those stages entail. They represent significant life events or the bigger picture of the situation you are facing.

Minor Arcana:

The Minor Arcana comprises of 56 Tarot cards across four suits: Swords, Wands, Cups and Pentacles.

In contrast to the grand narratives of the Major Arcana, the Minor Arcana symbolises the intricacies of daily life and tackles daily issues. These cards show us the daily events and steps that lead us to that bigger picture of the Major Arcana.

History:

The first documented tarot decks were recorded between 1440 and 1450 in Milan, Ferrara, Florence and Bologna, when additional trump cards with grand illustrations were added to the common four-suit pack. These new decks were called 'carte da trionfi,' triumph cards, and the additional cards known simply as trionfi, which became "trumps" in English. The original deck being 'Tarot of Marseilles'

Since Tarot has developed to have many variant decks but still based around the same initial cards , My (Essence) preference is the 'Witch's Tarot' Deck but the most popular and widely used deck is the Rider-Waite Tarot often referred to as the classic deck.
